About Thomas T. Osinski Jr., Esq.
Admitted in Washington State
Tom Osinski is a fourth generation Tacoman and first generation
college graduate who has returned home to live and work in the community
closest to his heart.
After graduating from Washington High School in Parkland, Tom attended
the University of Washington in Seattle. He earned Bachelor of Arts
degrees in both Political Science and Sociology, and minored in
Society and Justice. He then entered the University of California
Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, the oldest law school
in the west.
While attending Hastings he earned a certificate of concentration
in Civil Litigation. He was also a member of the Communications
and Entertainment Law Journal (COMM/ENT) where he was integral in
organizing a symposium on the First Amendment in the age of the
Internet. During his final year in law school, Tom had the good
fortune to serve as Research Assistant to the esteemed Hastings
Professor and former California Supreme Court Justice, Joseph Grodin.
Tom's first legal position was with the First Amendment Project,
a nonprofit law firm. While there, he worked on a myriad of free
speech issues, as well as free assembly, open meetings, and public
records disclosure. The most notable matter involved the publishing
of DVD encryption code on the World Wide Web, a case that gained
national and international attention.
Subsequently, he went to work for the State Bar of California where
he was introduced to the inner workings of government agency. Throughout
that time he engaged in a broad range of legal experiences including
suits against the State Bar, attorney discipline, bankruptcy actions,
and employment issues. He was also involved in a high volume of
non-lawsuit related legal advice and policy decisions concerning
legislative agenda and internal governance.
After Tom returned home to Tacoma, he worked as an independent
contractor for many local attorneys in Pierce and King counties.
He handled a wide range of cases such as land use, consumer protection,
sexual harassment, and contract disputes. Shortly thereafter, Tom
opened Osinski Law Offices P.L.L.C. (formerly the Law Offices of
Thomas T. Osinski Jr.).
Before starting his legal career Tom owned and operated a grocery
distribution route, worked as a package sorter and supervisor for
United Parcel Service, and held a multitude of jobs during his adolescence.
Tom has worked hard throughout his life and career. As your attorney,
he will serve you with the same dedication.
